Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders, Hackman Owusu-Agyemang has revealed the NPP constitution was written in his house.
According to Hackman Owusu-Agyemang when he came back from the UN, he was only committed to the NPP and nothing else and felt he could be the president.
Speaking on PM Extra on Joy News on 25 November 2024, Owusu-Agyemang revealed, “When I came from the UN my commitment was to the party I did nothing but to the party. The constitution was written in my house, our first manifesto was written in my house, my house was the meeting”.
“At that time, I thought I had the capacity to be president but now I don’t have the capacity why because what we were doing at that time is different from this digital and AI and all these things”, he added.
The former Minister for Foreign Affairs also reacted to Alan Kyeremanten expressing his strong disapproval of former president John Agyekum Kufuor endorsing NPP presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2024 elections.
Owusu-Agyemang stated, “So, if at that time President Kufuor thought that even Kyeremanten was the man of the moment, now he has moved on after almost 20 years and he believes that this is the time to move forward so it somebody else who should do this you should understand”.
