Manhyia Palace, Kumasi has issued a stern warning against anyone holding camping activities close to the palace.
As the December 7, 2024 polls draw closer, campaigning by the various political parties have intensified nationwide, with many embarking on campaign activities from dawn to dusk, with blaring music echoing in the ears and homes of Ghanaians.
Although this is a disadvantage to many Ghanaians, they have chosen to keep quiet and bear with it as it is an election year.
However, Manhyia Palace will not take any such disturbances and defacement of its property, issuing a stern warning against such activities in and around its environs, adding persons who disregard this directive will face severe consequences from the palace.
“Let’s all listen to this announcement carefully because if you defy this caution, you will be invited. Yesterday, leaders met and everyone was tasked to send out the message to all the political parties and, by extension, the entire nation. You have the right to splash your posters wherever, but places like the Airport Roundabout are off limits… it is disrespectful to go and hang party colours around the effigy of Okomfo Anokye or our Queen Mother; it is disrespectful,” he said.
This caution comes after a recent photo showed the statue of Okomfo Anokye adorned in the colors of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
