Social media is awash with critical criticism of a new game trending steadily in the Ashanti Region.
The game, dubbed the ‘shooting game’ according to reports started between the youth of PZ and Blue Light, suburbs of Kumasi.
In this game, youth of the two suburbs can be seen mimicking gang wars as seen in movies, drawing out toy guns and shooting at one another.
Although they seem to be having fun, this game has left a sour taste in the mouth of many Ghanaians with some describing it as careless, especially at a time where Ghana is going to the polls soon.
To some Ghanaians as well, they is a high probability one these youths will really get hurt during their so called ‘fun game.’
What annoyed some netizens the most was also the fact that a police man was spotted in one of the videos being hailed by the youth, and leaving them to enjoy their careless play when he should have stopped them immediately and educated them on the dangers associated with such a game, particular when the nation is preparing to go to the polls in a few days.
This shooting game has become a social contagion in Kumasi and swift measures need to taken to curtail it before the unexpected happens.
