Ghanaians on social media have descended heavily on the vice president and the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for boldly tagging John Mahama as the worst-performing president in the 4th republic.
According to Dr. Bawumia, the NDC presidential candidate does not seem to understand and continues to talk about economic performance as if he were better.
Speaking at the Ghana CEO-Presidential Gala Dinner on Thursday in Accra, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stated, “My main opponent in this election, my main opponent the former president has the worst economic performance of all Presidents in the 4th Republic”.
“However, he does not seem to understand that in continues to talk about economic performance as if his was better, the data shows that virtually in all sectors of the economy jobs created, gross international reserves, primary balance, grade balance, GDP, Agriculture growth, industry growth our government notwithstanding the global crisis covid and all, even in the mix of the global crisis has outperformed the Mahama government”.
Ghanaians on social media platform X, have descended heavily on the vice president after his comments at the event.

Hmmmmmm. He is the best (Vice President) ever. His Party, the best performing Party ever. His opponent, the worst performing President ever. Shoo-in for the Presidency of Ghana?

Very infuriating, insulting & completely disrespectful. Ghana is bankrupt under this clown. Never under JM.
Today Ghana is debt default with the highest debt in Ghana’s history. In 2022, under Bawumia, BOG lost 60bn in a 1 single year.
Today $1= GHs17 from 4 in 2016.
Empty!!!

It’s really strange the performance of someone 8 years ago still haunts you.

Some people never learn from their mistakes and Dr Bawumia is a typical example. You said alot in opposition and gave alot of people hope with many promises only to come and complain, disappoint and blame everything but yourself yet @JDMahama is your talking point. 🙄🤦🏽♂️ pic.twitter.com/qJM4Fnurta

This man isn’t worth listening to.
To Bawumia, “when in doubt, observe the exchange rate” statement is true then and it’s true now. He needs to revise his economics and lecture notes.— 𝐌𝔯. 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐲 (@Your_Blackness) November 8, 2024
Be like Bawumia forget say if your fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you. Lmao 🤣
