Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr Hassan Ayariga claims he is the originator of the 24-hour economy.
According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) took advantage of him, publicly taking credit for an idea that has always been his.
The APC flagbearer indicated that he has always championed Ghana, maximising its natural resources. With industrialization, his aim for Ghana, Dr. Ayariga posits that Ghanaians must work longer hours for the country to achieve this goal.
In an interview on JoyNews, he said, “Look at the things we can use to do cooking oil. Groundnut, palm oil, shea butter, coconut, and soya bean, all these things can be used to extract oil, yet we import over 800 million dollars of oil, and we say we are underemployed. When we don’t make good use of our natural and human resources, we will be sleeping like we are doing, working 8 hours and 16 hours sleeping.”
The politician sharing his views on the 24-hour economy policy said, “NDC adopted it from me.”
As part of his policies, Dr. Hassan Ayariga will introduce an “economic lockdown policy,” which he targeted, making Ghana a hub of production, manufacturing, and industrialization if he wins the upcoming elections.
