The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), of plotting to incite chaos in the Ashanti Region ahead of the 2024 elections.
The NPP claims this is part of a broader strategy by the NDC, led by retired COP Kofi Boakye, to intimidate voters and discourage support for the party on election day.
At a press conference in Accra, NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye warned that any attempts to disrupt peace in the party’s strongholds would be met with firm resistance and would ultimately fail.
“Information available to the NPP reveals that several months ago, the NDC has been training thugs in pockets of communities, including Obuasi East Constituency under the guise of private security training.
These individuals are being prepared to disrupt the electoral process, particularly in the Ashanti Region which is the NPP stronghold.
