The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to address the current security challenges facing some parts of the country or pack out of office.
Speaking at a campaign rally at Kenteng, a suburb of Techiman in the Bono East region on Sunday, November 3, 2024, Mr Nketia accused the Akufo-Addo led government of being responsible for the current insecurity experienced in some parts of the country including the recent Bawku conflict.
He added that the government has failed in maintaining peace and security in the country and “doesn’t deserve the chance to administer the affairs the country.”
He further called on the media to press on the president to act. Mr. Nketiah also said “the only party that can better handle Ghana’s security situation is the NDC” and called on residents of Techiman to “vote out the NPP for failing to properly execute its constitutionally mandated responsibilities.”
