Spokesperson for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh known as NAPO, Flifi Boafo, has offered an explanation for the ‘blunder’ made by NAPO during a recent campaign tour.
In a surprising turn of events, Dr. Opoku Prempeh caused confusion and amusement among Ghanaians by publicly encouraging voters to support former President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections.
While on the campaign trail to garner support for both himself and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), NAPO made an unexpected statement.
While shaking hands with Mr. Robert, the NPP candidate for the region, Napo made direct eye contact with the crowd and said, “Support both Mahama and Robert!”
In response to the controversy, Flifi Boafo clarified that NAPO’s mention of Mahama was not an endorsement of the former President but rather a strategic move to remind Ghanaians of Mahama’s poor performance during his time in office.
According to Boafo, the statement was made in the context of highlighting the past failures of the Mahama administration, not as a call to support him in the upcoming elections.
