The member of parliament for Ningo-Prampram Sam George has fired a shot at the running mate of the NPP Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who claimed the NDC led by Okudzeto Ablakwa introduced the Comprehensive Sexuality Education(CSE) into our curriculum.
Speaking on a campaign platform in Kumasi-Bantama NAPO accused the NDC led by Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa of including comprehensive sexuality education in the curriculum for school children.
On GHOne State of Affairs show Sam George refuted NAPO’s allegation citing Okudzeto Ablakwa as the deputy minister in charge of Tertiary at the time, he said, “CSE was introduced in the basic school, Okudzeto had absolutely nothing to do with basic education at his time in the ministry, does that sound like somebody who has his faculty functioning properly”.
According to Sam George NAPO thanked UNESCO for introducing Comprehensive Sexuality Education into the basic school curriculum.
“I have a video that I can share with you to play for your viewers of Matthew Opoku Prempeh thanking UNESCO, he was wearing a blue suit thanking UNESCO for introducing CSE into the curricula, and that it is time for us to get modern and understand modern sexual trends it NAPO and this was in 2019, why? And that is why I say that we need to begin to have a mental fitness test”
Sam George acknowledged that he is not attacking Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh but only described his actions adding mental fitness is an aptitude test that is taken to determine whether you are mentally fit.
In November 2018, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) pushed for sexual and reproductive health education in Ghana to be fused into the education system.
