The running mate of the NPP Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has blasted the running mate of the NDC Prof. Jane Naana for condoning illegality.
According to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku is condoning illegality by claiming the government did not provide jobs for galamseyers, so they are now engaged in galamsey which is destroying the environment and water bodies.
Speaking in a one-on-one interview on GTV, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh said, “The running mate of the NDC just about a month ago was in Tarkwa. Did you hear what she said, galamsey are you here? Galamsey people are you here, the government didn’t give you jobs”.
“Whenever did it become an issue because the government could not provide you with work you condone illegality”, he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has also blamed John Mahama and Prof. Jane Naana for the happening in parliament, he claimed, “Yesterday you were in this country when there were near riots in parliament of Ghana it was the consequent of John Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang irresponsible statement on galamsey that made the NPP lose 20 seats in galamsey areas and we lost our majority and we are living the consequences of that in parliament, it was only because of that, because of illegal mining”.
