A video has popped up of Ghanaians in the UK joining in the protest illegal mining (galamsey).

In a move to show unity with their fellow Ghanaians back home, Ghanaians in the UK joined the increasing anti-galamsey protests.

The protest saw a diverse group of protesters, including students, professionals, and community leaders and some white people, all united in their fight to demand an end to galamsey.

They held placards with messages “BLOOD, GOLD, GREED”, “Free the citizens now!”, and “Showboy hazard”

The protesters were also heard singing “Nana Addo baako, galamsey beebre, Protest baako, Police beebre”.

The demonstration took place in front of the Ghana High Commission in London.

Back home, The Concerned Citizens Anti-Galamsey protest against galamsey are demanding action against illegal mining.

The demonstration, which ended today October 5, aims to highlight the ongoing environmental destruction caused by illegal mining, locally known as galamsey.

The protesters are also demanding the immediate release of 53 Democracy Hub protesters who were arrested and still in remand during an anti-galamsey demo some weeks ago.
