A 62-year-old protester who was arrested among with several Democracy Hub protesters has accused the Ghana Police Service of manhandling her and her grandchildren.
Chaos erupted between the protesters and the Ghana Police Service on the second day of the Democracy Hub protest on Sunday September 22 leading to several members of the demonstrators being arrested.
In a video posted on X by JoyNews the 62-year-old convener was seen lamenting she said, “… an adopted child no proper parents, she comes from Korle Gonno, why? What has she done? 10 years old girl why?
“There was a Police man I have to thank him I don’t know who he is, he was wearing square glasses like mine when they were arresting me, he said let the woman and the child go. There was another policeman very fat with a round fair face he said no catch the woman”. she lamented further.
The 62-year-old stated the only weapon she had was her mouth and she will use it for the future.
She and the grandchild were later allowed to leave, but insisted a policewoman manhandle them.
