A former Member of the seventh parliament for the people of Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwah has made a damning revelation against MPs of this eight Parliament saying they are into what he describes as “Black Market Business”.
The eight Parliament kicked off its duties with a dramatic beginning as the bid for a majority became a keen yearn until the Member of parliament for Fomena, a defected Member of the NPP who contested his ticket as an independent candidate decided to join the right hand side of the chamber to make the NPP a majority side.
This development has brought a lot of government businesses that need to be undertaken by the house into some sort of stretching. In an interview on Peace Fm’s Kokrokoo morning Show, the former member of Member of the Seventh Parliament disclosed that the eight parliament is the only regime of the law making organ in Ghana who has had money being spent on heavily just to ensure that it does it work.
According to him, if Ghanaians are aware of the amount of money being spent on the eight parliament, they will rescind their decision and vote for the NPP in both the Presidential and Parliamentary election in every constituency. He alleged that Members of Parliament resort to taking payments or money before they return from even national assignment in order to help pass a bill.
He described these acts as black market business being perpetuated by the MPs of the eight parliament. He cited the minority to be the ones spearheading the Black market business in the house owing to the fact that, if they do not make a quorum with their absence, no business can go on in parliament.
