The leader of the NDC caucus in parliament, Ato Forson has exposed the NPP caucus in parliament.

According to Ato Forson, the NPP parliamentary caucus in 2024 requested an urgent recall of Parliament on four different occasions but abandoned the so-called urgent government business.

Ato Forson wrote on X, “It is important to stress that this is the fourth time in 2024 alone that the NPP parliamentary caucus is requesting an urgent recall of Parliament. At each of the previous urgent meetings, many of the businesses stated as so-called urgent Government Business were abandoned”.

In a memo addressed to the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin from the leader of the NPP caucus Alban Bagbin, Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin lister about five business outstanding government businesses and bills that need urgent attention by parliament.

Some of the businesses include requests for tax exemptions for designated beneficiaries under the One District, One Factory Programme: Ghana Financial Stability Fund, an International Development Association facility of Two Hundred and Fifty Million United States Dollars ($250,000,000) and the consideration of the President’s Nominations for Appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court.

Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin in his Memo wants parliament to reconvene on Thursday 28th November and Friday 29th November as the scheduled dates for this emergency recall.
