French international, Benjamin Mendy has won an £11m employment claim against English club, Manchester City.
Benjamin Mendy was cleared in two separate trials of multiple rape allegations and other sex offences while living a wild lifestyle of hard partying with several City team-mates.
After his arrest, Manchester City assumed he was heading to prison and unlawfully withdrew his salary for almost two years before his contract expired in June 2023.
The France defender took the club to court for £11.5m in unpaid wages from when he was charged in August 2021 and suspended without pay by City.
In her judgement, published on November 6, Judge Joanne Dunlop’s concluded that Manchester City were not entitled to withhold Mendy’s pay while he was not in custody.
