John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has listed plans to help control the rising food prices in Ghana.
In the NDC manifesto for 2024 election they listed the scrapping of six draconian taxes, resetting the unjust VAT system, apply the price stabilization and recovery levy on fuel, launch a special Pension scheme for informal sector workers, and rolling out a $ 10 billion “Big push” policy for strategic infrastructural development.
Taking to X, the former president stated, “I am clear in my mind about what needs to be done to halt the daily increase in the price of food and other essential commodities, which is a result of the economic mismanagement by the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.”
Mahama reiterated that the hardship face by Ghanaians need to be alleviated.
The NDC flagbearer will be at the number 8 position on the ballot sheet for the 2024 elections.
