The National Democratic Congress and its leader, John Dramani Mahama will now breathe a sigh of relief after nearly missing out on its initial placement on the electoral commission’s ballot paper arrangement after GFP names Akua Donkor’s replacement.
The death of the former Presidential Candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor, seemed to have brought some restlessness in the camp of the NDC since the inability of GFP to have named its new candidate would have resulted in their candidate missing out on his original number 8 slot on the ballot paper.
In an executive meeting on Sunday, November 3, 2024, the Ghana Freedom Party have named Roman Fada known in private life as Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi as its new candidate. The announcement of Roman Fada means that, John Dramani Mahama will still maintain his number 8 position on the ballot paper.
This news becomes necessary because, some NDC big wigs issued warnings to the Electoral Commission that it will not condone any form of repositioning after the E.C published a communique on the L.I of the Commission on procedures for political parties should their candidate pass on days to election.
