Joyce Bawah Mogtari, campaign spokesperson for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has strongly dismissed rumors surrounding the former president’s health. Addressing the speculations in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show on Monday, Madam Mogtari assured the public that Mahama is in perfect health and continues to be fully active on the campaign trail.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with Mahama. He is in perfect health, and even this morning he was at the gym. He sleeps for less than four hours, and campaigning is not easy even for a young person, so there is a lot going on,” Mogtari explained, emphasizing that the rumors are mere propaganda.
Madam Mogtari reiterated the NDC’s focus on winning the December 7 election and addressing the concerns of Ghanaian citizens. “We are on the battleground fighting for the poor, unemployed, and many others, so this is not the time to look good. Mr. Mahama is in top form and shape. We won’t focus our energy on these things to drain us,” she said.
She also responded to allegations that Mahama is a heavy drinker, calling the claims baseless. “If you drink on a campaign trail, do you think you will be consistent, coherent, and in the right frame of mind? It is mere propaganda and should be ignored,” she added.
The NDC remains steadfast in its campaign efforts, aiming to reset and rebuild Ghana according to the needs of its citizens, despite distractions from unfounded rumors.
