President Nana Akufo-Addo has labelled former President John Dramani Mahama a failed leader unworthy of another chance at the presidency.
He argued that Mahama’s tenure was unsuccessful and emphasized that Ghana would benefit more from fresh leadership under Dr. Bawumia.
He made this comment in Kumasi on Sunday, 24th November, while speaking to professional groups and emphasized the pivotal role of the Ashanti Region in securing electoral victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“We have two people who are in the race. One, a failed president and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. There are four other people who have had the blessing of the Almighty and the support of the people of Ghana to become presidents of Ghana.”
“Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Dramani Mahama, and myself. Of all these, Jerry John Rawlings had a second term, John Agyekum Kufuor had a second term, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had a second term.”
“The only one who was not given a second term was John Dramani Mahama and the reason is that he did a poor job,” he emphasized.
He expressed unwavering confidence in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, praising him as a competent and well-equipped leader ready to steer Ghana toward greater progress.
According to him, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, possesses the skills and experience needed to propel the nation to new heights.
The President urged Ghanaians to rally behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential campaign, highlighting his vast experience in governance and his clear vision for Ghana’s progress.
He expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia is the ideal candidate to sustain the current administration’s efforts and build upon its accomplishments.
