John Dumelo, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon has alleged that the incumbent member of parliament for the area Lydia Alhassan met the Legon security officer and threatened him.
According to John Dumelo, he has received reports that Lydia Alhassan has met and allegedly threatened a security officer at the University of Ghana, Legon to retract his statement or risk losing his job.
John Dumelo’s full post on X stated, “I have received reports that the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon has met and allegedly threatened a security officer at the University of Ghana, Legon. The officer, seen in a video stating that the rice and oil distributed by the MP would not influence his vote, is reportedly being pressured to retract his statement or risk losing his job. I urge voters to reject such intimidation. This is a university community, and individuals must have the courage to stand against oppression”.
The Legon guard yesterday in a short video expressed his disappointment in Lydia Seyram Alhassan for only giving him 5kg bag of rice and a small bottle of cooking oil for 8 years.
Speaking in a recorded video, the security guard stated, “It is Lydia, the whole of eight years, this is the thing he can give, we have never received anything from Lydia apart from this one, I am in this constituency I vote at Bawaleshi”.
“That is politics for you, me I can’t take this and vote for you, so if because of this thing you are giving to buy me you lie, my vote is not coming to you”, he emphasized.
