Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) in the Bekwai Constituency, Lovista Owusu, has made headlines with his unique campaign promise aimed at students in his constituency.
Lovista has promised to come up with the ‘one student, one bofrot’ initiative once he win in the coming elections.
According to him, this initiative aims at providing every student from basic to Junior High School free bofrot in class every day once he is elected as Member of Parliament in the upcoming elections.
This initiative, he believes, will contribute to addressing some of the food security challenges faced by schoolchildren in the area.
“I will ensure that every child takes one bofrot to class, as part of my plan to promote the school feeding program that Akufo-Addo couldn’t deliver to us. Once I win in the upcoming election, it will be one student, one bofrot from Class 1 to JHS 3” he said in a video posted on EDHUB’s page on X.
He encouraged all mothers, traders, and market women to vote for him as he truly has their interests at heart.
“Also, vote for my flagbearer, Kofi Akpaloo, who is committed to giving every newborn GHC500 once he becomes president. He cares deeply about the children and women of Bekwai and together we can make a difference. Vote for us come December 7th” he emphasized.
The video has sparked discussions across social media, with many expressing their opinions on the practicality and impact of such a promise.
Some netizens have mocked his initiative and called him unserious while others have also praised the gesture as a thoughtful one which will ensure students have access to food in school in the constituency.
