The member of parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has exposed the Lands Commission of Ghana for mistakenly giving out an already leased land to a company.
According to Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa the Lands Commission leased out a property that did not belong to them to a company and that company based on the allocation when to demolish the rightful owner’s property.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, he said, “How on earth did the Lands Commission not carry out any due diligence, the Lands Commission of Ghana didn’t know that property number 94 North Labone is a state housing company property that they have leased legitimately to Ambassador Lomotey Family”.
“The Lands Commission and the State Housing Company are not in communication, all the noise being made about digitalization we are to believe that there is a Chinese wall between the Lands Commission and the State Housing Company”, he added.
The MP further stated, “Now in this letter, Lands Commission is virtually saying that we made the mistake, that we should not have granted you this lease, it is incredible, and you know what is happening, this letter does not address compensation”.
