Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, has encouraged the the police deal with the arrested protesters of the Democracy Hub demonstration.
In an on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo show he said, “Every well-meaning Ghanaian who gets the opportunity to watch the video, just by watching the video, you get provoked and for the Police to contain themselves, to hold on in the face of this extreme provocation, I commend them highly”.
He noted that “the steps that have been taken by the police to arrest these lawless young people, the law must go through the full haul and deal with them”, stressing that, “these are the things that will precipitate this country unto the path of disorder”.
Kwamena Duncan believes that the police must ensure the law takes its full course and are in the right direction by arresting the protesters.
Over 30 protesters have been reportedly arrested in connection with the protest for causing destruction to properties and exhibiting other lawless behaviours.
They appeared before court on Monday September 23, 2024 and taken back into police custody to reappear before the court on October 8.
