Kobina Tahir (K.T.) Hammond, the minister for Trade, has reported the MP for Ketu North, Dr James Klutse Avedzi for assaulting him.
According to KT Hammond, he has filed a criminal complaint against the NDC MP for pushing him about five times.
KT Hammond stated, “This man came out of nowhere and started pushing me, I kept shouting you can’t push me like that. He pushed me about five times. What did he think he was doing? I have filed a complaint”.
The minister for trade has promised to pursue the case through to its conclusion.
The heated confrontation between MPs of the NDC and K.T Hammond happened after Speaker Bagbin adjourned Parliament indefinitely for a second time on Thursday, November 7, alluding to a lack of business due to the absence of NPP members in the House.
In the viral video, K.T. Hammond who seemed displeased with the Speaker’s decision could be heard shouting and asking, “Where is Ato (Forson)? Show leadership. Ghana is not Bagbin, and his actions do not urger well.”
Some NDC MPs could be seen shoving K.T. Hammond and reprimanding the NPP for refusing to come to parliament.
The police have since given the trade minister a medical form to be examined at any government hospital after he filed his criminal complaint.
