The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has appointed a new interim Chief Executive Officer as the tenure of the current CEO, Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, comes to an end on October 5, 2024.
In a statement, the Board of Directors announced that Dr. Frank Owusu-Sekyere, Director of Medical Affairs, will take over as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective October 6, 2024. This decision comes as the board awaits further communication from the appointing authorities regarding the hospital’s leadership.
Board Chair, Dr. David Nkawansa Dwamena, acknowledged Dr. Ampomah’s dedication and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Korle-Bu during his four-year term. He emphasized that the appointment of Dr. Owusu-Sekyere is intended to ensure a smooth transition and maintain the seamless operation of the hospital.
“The Board’s primary concern remains the seamless continuity of the Hospital’s operations and the well-being of our patients. We solicit the cooperation and support of all stakeholders during this transition period. Thank you for your service,” the statement added.
