Ketu North Municipal Chief Executive Anthony Avorgbedor has clarified the allocation of the $1 million per constituency from the government’s $1 billion initiative, launched in November 2021.
He revealed that the funds have been utilized to construct a warehouse and purchase an ambulance for the constituency.
During an appearance on TV3’s Communities Watch, Avorgbedor addressed questions from the National Democratic Congress NDC regarding the funding.
He stated, “The $1 million we promised is not simply sent directly to each constituency.
Instead, it is used for projects within the constituency. We can see that part of it has been used to buy an ambulance—one ambulance for our constituency.”
When pressed by the presenter about whether the $1 million was delivered directly to the constituency, Avorgbedor reiterated, “We did not promise that.
We promised that the $1 million would be utilized for projects in the constituency. The ambulance and the warehouse are both part of that allocation.”
