A video has emerged of a head potter commonly known as Kayayei in Ghana struggling to carry four stacked mattresses.
In the viral video, the young-looking head porter was carrying stacked mattresses with others around looking on. A voice could be heard in Twi praising the young lady as being strong.
The young Kayayei eventually dropped the mattresses she was carrying looking very tired.
Despite concerns about underage girls in this trade, the harsh working conditions haven’t stopped others from migrating to Accra to earn money by carrying loads.
