The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has challenged the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the upcoming elections.
John Mahama on a campaign tour noted that then-running mate Dr. Bawumia used to go around and take pictures of school children without furniture and donate to them.
John Mahama said, “Running mate Mahamudu Bawumia, when he was running mate to Akufo-Addo used to come and roam in the Upper West here and look for schools where there was no furniture and see children sitting on stones and he would take pictures and go and say I visited this school and they didn’t have furniture, NDC has failed to give the furniture”.
According to John Mahama today 1.3 million basic school children do not have furniture to sit on and challenged the Vice President to provide them with furniture like he used to do.
“Today 1.3 million basic school children have no furniture, during NDC time he will visit and donate furniture to the school, … I challenge him to visit the schools in Upper West that do not have furniture, and he should provide them with furniture like he was doing when he was in opposition” John Mahama stated.
