National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has accused some NPP ministers of engaging in illegal mining (galamsey) which he says is disgraceful.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Sammy Gyamfi said, “show me one NDC minister who was given a concession to mine in a forest reserve, Sam Pyne has a concession in a forest reserve. We have seen it, the Fourth Estate has published it, Erastus has confirmed”.
“Your Western Regional Minister he is doing illegal mining, we have seen the list the last time Dr. Abbey, you put it on your screen those five government officials who are mining in forest reserve”. He reiterated.
Sammy Gyamfi added that this never happened under any previous administration, indicating what is happening today has never happen in the history of Ghana.
He further alleged that Akufo-Addo ban on galamsey was only a rouse, a charade calculated at adding top NPP functionaries to take over our forest reverse and water bodies.
