Manchester playmaker, Rodri says he is in now way going to join Real Madrid.
The youngster has confessed to loving wearing the Manchester City jersey, and has hinted that he may stay on with the club for the rest of his career.
Rodri who has just two years remaining on his current contract at Manchester City has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Speaking about his future during an interview with Cadena Ser, Rodri said: “I have two years left on my contract, the time is approaching to sit down and speak again. It’s clear that [Guardiola’s contract extension] is an important incentive. I feel very valued at the club. For the time being, I’m very happy.”
While Rodri expressed admiration for Madrid, calling it the “best and most successful club in history,” he emphasised that he could well hang up his boots on English shores.
“Obviously when Madrid, the best and most successful club in history, calls you, it is an honour,” he said. “You always have to pay attention. But obviously of course not. I don’t look too far ahead but it’s a possibility that I could perfectly end my career in England.”
Rodri, a Spanish midfielder has played a key role in Pep Guardiola’s setup since joining in 2019. After winning the fourth consecutive Premier League title with the club and conquering Europe with Spain, the 28-year-old won the Ballon d’Or earlier this year, beating Vinicius Junior to the prize.
