Conflicting reports have emerged about the location and health status of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, Global President of Groupe Nduom, alleged that Dr. Prempeh had traveled to Germany for medical treatment. In a post on the X platform, Nduom extended his well-wishes to Dr. Prempeh, stating, “Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) flies to Germany for medical treatment. Ghana is with you in our prayers.”
However, close sources have refuted these claims. According to their information, Dr. Prempeh was in Techiman North on August 30, where he was actively participating in campaign activities as part of his tour ahead of the 2024 general elections. The sources confirmed that Dr. Prempeh had recently visited a local chief and was preparing to address a mini rally.
The discrepancy between these reports has raised questions about the accuracy of the information regarding Dr. Prempeh’s current status and location. As of the latest updates, it appears that Dr. Prempeh remains in Ghana and is continuing his political engagements.
