Naa Densua, an elderly woman who joined in the #SayNoToGalamsey protest has revealed that she joined the protestor since she does not want her grandchildren drinking polluted galamsey water.
Speaking to JoyNews holding a bottle of polluted water from the Pra River, she said, “Because my grandchildren will drink this in two years’ time if I don’t help put a stop to galamsey. It has to end. I don’t want my grandchildren to drink this. I want clean water today, not tomorrow.”
Naa Densua stated the galamsey menace has been going on for so long and this was her moment to speak to those in charge,
“The government should come and tell us what it’s doing. When we understand and see the action, then we will know what is what. No action, we will not go home. We will be here three days.” She reiterated.
