The stories of innocent Ghanaians arrested for supposedly being a part of the three-day Democracy Hub demonstrations keeps increasing.
There have been stories of passerbys, including pregnant women, asthmatic and diabetic patients being innocently rounded up and put in jail by Police Officers for allegedly disrupting public order and destroying public property.
The most recent of these stories is an innocent bus conductor (trotro mate) who was also arrested by the Police.
In a video which has surfaced online, the mate who was being dragged from court can be heard shouting, “I am a mate oo..I am not one of them.. I am a mate ooo.. I just say at that place.”
In the same video, another person can be seen being manhandled by a police officer when he attempted to speak to the press.
These actions of the police speak volumes and go a long way to affirm allegations of maltreatment suffered by demonstrators arrested by the police.
