A Communication Team Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has advised flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama against constantly sharing his opinion about happenings in Ghana.
His comment is targeted at John Dramani Mahama, who criticised the treatment of Democracy Hub protesters who were arrested during a demonstration against illegal mining, also known as galamsey.
In a Facebook post, Mahama condemned the situation, describing the remand decision as “high-handed” and an “abuse of their rights”.
He argued that the country needs to balance the maintenance of law and order with protecting the rights and freedoms of its citizens.
“You claim to be a gentleman who is well educated with a family and you do this. You’re there and saying this and condoning such an irresponsible behaviour. What sort of country is this. Because of votes and you speak about everything. So, what will happen if there is an issues and you don’t get involved, will you die?” he took a swipe at former President Mahama.
According to the NPP man, elders sometimes have to look on and keep their comments to themselves, rather than get involved in every single issue.
