A 99-year-old ex-Warrant Officer 1 Joseph Hammond has boldly stated if there is a war in Ghana, Ghanaians should just throw him a gun he is ready to fight.
According to the former WO1 for him, the army is in his blood despite being at the age of 99-year-old.
Speaking to renowned broadcaster Kafui Dey he stated, “It is very interesting, honestly for me the army is in my blood, right now I’m 99 but when there is a war in Ghana you throw me the gun and finish that is all I will fight, I will fight because it is in the blood”.
He further revealed Burma Camp used to be called differently, saying, “You see, so, you know, I used to see the soldiers, and the camp was not Burma camp it was Giffard camp named after General Giffard”.
The former Warrant Officer 1 Joseph Hammond fought in World War Two as a Teenager.
