Patrick Osei Agyemang, popularly known in radio broadcast as Countryman Songo, has reiterated his stance on who he will be voting for in the coming December elections.
Asked if he will be voting for reset or upgrade, referring to NDC and NPP, he replied, “I told you I’m not going back so most definitely, it’s upgrade. We are not going back. As a country, we have to move forward”.
He charged that he will not sit back and watch people cast useless votes because judging from how things are going globally, it is only going to get more difficult and therefore, what Ghana needs is an economist whom in his opinion is the ‘upgrade’. “We need someone who understands the economy and knows how to adjust things to continually make Ghana better when the economy is getting tougher”, he advised.
Referencing the debate between US’s Kamala Harris and Donald Trump yesterday, he suggested that Ghanaian presidential aspirants should also engage in such a debate and explain their policies and promises for Ghanaians to understand better.
“NDC and NPP should come and debate like the US did yesterday. Mahama and Bawumia should come forth and debate very professionally. Trump and Kamala didn’t argue yesterday. It was all a very professional debate”.
Countryman Songo added, “When the political parties are campaigning, they should make sure that they are telling us the policies and the things that they can do. They should also note that, when they’re telling us what they can do, we can tell if they can truly do it or not so don’t just come and lie. If you have policies, you should be able to explain for the people to understand better”.
According to Songo, vying for presidency is not just about relaying the things that the party intends to do and expect people to buy into it immediately but rather, they need to further explain these policies and how they plan to go about it, to convince people that they know what they are about and are up to the task.
