An 18-year-old Free SHS beneficiary has stated that he will be voting based on the economy and not because he benefitted from the Free SHS policy.
According to the 18-year-old free SHS beneficiary, he completed OWASS this year and has registered to vote in the 2024 elections.
He said, “I am ready to vote. I will be voting based on the economy, and how the hardship affects us. My parents look after me if I need anything, they provide for me, so if they go to the market and they are not able to buy goods they come home to complain that things are costly now, so if I need something they will not provide for me, I am not using Free SHS to vote”.
He further added, “Now I have finished the free SHS, if by God’s grace I want to continue schooling it depends on my parents helping me so if they do not have the resources to support me, I will not be able to continue my education”.
