I will not challenge EC disqualification – Janet Nabla

Presidential candidate for the for the peoples national party Janet Asana Nabla has rescinded her decision to take the electoral commission to court over her disqualification from the 2024 presidential race.

On September 20 ,2024 The Electoral Commission (EC) disqualified janet Nabla and 11 others due to their failure to correct errors on their nomination form.

In a statement issued on Thursday, signed by the general secretary of the party Sulemana Seidu, expressed its disagreement with the EC’s reasons for disqualifying their candidate but confirmed that Nabla will not seek redress through the courts.

“The party upon consulting its members across the country has chosen to let it go, and rather concentrate on receiving its final certificate to enable it to operate as a full-fledged political party,” it added.

The PNP noted that as a political party, it was not limited to contesting elections, but rather educating citizens to help them make an informed decision about political issues, government policies and their impact on society.

 

“In addition, the PNP shall hold the government of the day accountable by reviewing policies, proposing alternatives, and ensuring transparency,” it added.
