Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews, Presidential Candidate for the Ghana Union Movement, has revealed in an interview with Neat F.M that, when he is voted into power, he will make sure that the voting age in the country is changed from 18 to 25.
Osofo Kyiriabosom as he is widely known, seems not to be happy with majority of statutory in the country, he has since his declaration of intent to contest the Presidential seat, vowed to change so many things. The recent of which was his vow to change the Parliamentary number from 275 to 16.
According to him, when one is 18 years of age, the individual has less life experience and dependency to make a heavy choice as voting. He shared that, almost every Ghanaian at the age of 25, might have experienced the Ghanaian life and can undoubtedly make good choices and decisions as far as election is considered.
He mentioned that, an 18 year old individual can be easily swayed by the politicians with very little amount of money to influence their choice of selection and since he or she has no bill to pay, they just accept it and gives their vote of freely. A 25 year old person who has bills to pay and has experienced enough hardship under various leaders will not fall for cheap money, according to Kyiriabosom.
