Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama claims he was forced out of retirement by the economic mismanagement of the Akufo-Addo led government.
John Mahama who was looking forward to retirement and becoming a statesman says he will be a selfish individual if he stayed in retirement, and watched on as the ruling government drove Ghana into the ground.
“I know that the extent to which they have destroyed our economy and the debts that they have put on this country is going to be a difficult job for us. I was looking forward to retirement after I handed over to Akufo-Addo. I thought I was going to relax and become a statesman, but I will be a selfish person if I see the extent to which they have destroyed this country and I have the experience, knowledge, integrity, and then I sit at home and I say I will not offer myself and use that experience to turn this country around for my children,” he said during a campaign event.
Reiterating that it would be selfish of him to stay at home and enjoy his retirement as Ghana suffers, the former President called on the youth of Ghana to join hands with him and put Ghana back to its feet.
