The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop misrepresenting his comments regarding the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme.
During his recent engagement with residents of Ahwerewam as part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti region, he stated that the NDC would support, maintain, and sustain the Free SHS programme but would eliminate the double-track system.
However, Asiedu Nketia noted that the governing NPP has distorted his statements and circulated a misleading video on social media that suggests the NDC plans to cancel the entire Free SHS programme if given the mandate.
At the campaign launch for the Asante Akyem North Constituency of the NDC, Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito urged the NPP to cease disseminating false information.
Asiedu Nketia reiterated that the NDC will continue to support and sustain the Free SHS initiative if given the mandate, but would remove the double-track system to enhance its effectiveness and improve education.
He encouraged Ghanaians to disregard the misleading video currently circulating, emphasizing that it is completely false and lacking in truth.
Asiedu Nketia, therefore, assured the public that the Free SHS programme will be maintained and upheld.
