Ghana’s Rap Doctor, Okyeame Kwame has stated that, he believes personally, politics or the declaration of support for a political party should be private and not public.
The Musician some months ago rejected a position to be part of a certain political party’s strategic team for their Creative Arts Manifesto Committee. Responding to the decision he made, he said he does politics privately, therefore putting his name out there publicly was strongly against his principles of political allegiance, hence his rejection and withdrawal.
It is not too clear if the Rapper is still part of that political party, but he shared that his political allegiance will forever remain private. The Made in Ghana Ambassador shared that, his reason to do politics comes on the back of the polarization of the country’s political landscape. He also added that, since out voting system is the secret balloting, it clearly tells that your political allegiance and practice should also be secret.
He advised business minded individuals like him, to tow the same line he has chosen so they won’t be affected if government changes or continues.

I don’t engage in politics publicly; for me, politics is private, so I keep it personal and handle it quietly because… – Okyeame Kwame on #3FMDrive pic.twitter.com/agxtmlWMq0
