The new Manchester United Manager, Ruben Amorim says he is ready to face the new challenge of leading the club head on.
Amorim who is confident of succeeding in his new role said, “I feel ready for the new challenge. I am not naïve. I know that it is going to be very different.. very tough, but I feel that I am ready. I am in peace now and I can focus on my new job.”
According to him, he has figured out a structure to start managing the club and players with, citing familiarity with that structure and finally adapting with the players.
“I am looking forward for start tomorrow. I know how I am going to play in the beginning because you have to start with a structure. A structure that you know and then you will adapt with the players that you have,” he said in a press briefing.
Though many perceive Ruben Amorim taking up the Manchester United job was within a short notice, he (Ruben) is confident of achieving success with the club.
Considered one of Europe’s brightest young managers, Amorim’s first match is slated for Nov. 24 against Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
However, Amorim is facing a further delay before officially starting as United’s new head coach as the club await confirmation of his visa. Until confirmation is received, Amorim cannot begin his official duties, including overseeing training sessions.
United are 13th in the league, having earned 15 points from 11 matches, four points adrift of Chelsea in third. Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has guided the side to three wins and a draw in all competitions since Ten Hag was sacked on Oct. 28.
