Founder and leader of Anointed Palace Chapel, Rev. Obofour, posed three questions to flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during his (Mahama) meeting with the clergy today, October 1, 2024.
He expressed gratitude to John Mahama for bringing the clergy together for such an event, describing President Mahama’s second coming “as not a taboo.”
Addressing the president, he indicated that as men of God, most Ghanaians come to the church with their problems and not the seat of the presidency.
In his first question, he acknowledged that most Ghanaians prioritize having their own homes. With the rising cost of building materials, it has become expensive to build homes. Rev. Obofour used the opportunity to appeal to John Mahama to address the rising cost of building materials.
The hike in fuel prices have also led to an exponential increase in lorry fares. “We used to rely on change from buying koko to pay lorry fares, but now that has become impossible now. We need you to do something about it.”
The dollar rate as against the cedi has also become problematic with the dollar selling at $1 to Gh15.81. The man of God urged former President Mahama to take steps to address the cedi depreciation as soon as he is elected to power.
He also told John Mahama to engage the clergy on policy decisions when he is voted to power for a wholistic approach to national development.
