Former parliamentary aspirant for Oforikrom constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Henry Osei Akoto, has described the Planting For Food and Jobs (PFJ) Policy as one of the greatest lies the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ever sold Ghanaians.
According to him, the NPP claimed the PFJ was going to create thousands of jobs to employ all Ghanaians of employable age, but that never happened.
Speaking on CTV, Henry Osei Akoto said, “One of the biggest scams the NPP scammed Ghanaians with is the planting for food and jobs policy. I quite remember that before the 2016 elections, everyone you met said the NPP was going to introduce the planting for food and jobs policy. It was simple English, which meant they would plant and create numerous jobs for Ghanaians.”
He recounted then General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu saying there will be so many jobs in Ghana that in the end, all those who had travelled for greener pastures abroad were going to return to the country “because those in the country couldn’t do the jobs alone.”
“8 years now and the jobs are nowhere to be seen,” he called on Ghanaians to vote the NDC back to power come December 7, 2024, for a better Ghana.
