The death of serial entrepreneur, Michael Agyekum Addo was announced in the late hours of Friday November 1, 2024 to the Ghanaian public and Business fraternity.
The news of his death has sent lots of discussion and tribute payments amidst consolation messages from well meaning Ghanaians and close associates.
Among those who paid tribute to the successful entrepreneur is one of the leading heads of Imani Ghana, a policy think Thank, Franklin Cudjoe. Mr. Cudjoe known for his firm criticisms of governmental policies and plans took to his official page to pay tribute to the man who was conferred on a honorary doctorate degree by KNUST in 2005.
In his post, Mr. Cudjoe acknowledged that the late Mr. Agyekum Addo was a serial and successful entrepreneur who fought through the “penury from the deadliest government sponsored banking sector clean up”. He also added that, the late founder of KAMA Group of Companies died in flesh and spirit to the battle of the Bank Act.
Mr. Addo is an accomplished entrepreneur who has built a huge business footprint in the pharmaceutical industry in Ghana.
Renowned for starting the KAMA Group of Companies, which operated several subsidiaries including a pharmaceutical production company now divested, Addo is also the Nkabomhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
