Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and MP for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon. Hawa Koomson, shares bottles of cooking oil two weeks before the elections as women queue for one bottle each at Kasoa
In a video shared by EDHUB, the Member of Parliament is captured dishing out bottles of cooking oil to constituents with just few days left to elections. The video captured women both young and old queuing up to be given their share of the constituency oil.
Issues of vote buying have become a thing in the Ghanaian political terrain and has constantly been spoken of, with recent reports by the Office of the Special Prosecutor describing it as a criminal case.
The video has received lots of reaction from internet users with some describing the act as very disappointing in this age and era of enlightenment. Others also expressed shock as to how people still fall for such politricks from Ghanaian and African politicians during election period.
