The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama convoy was stopped by residents of Halimboi to appeal for electricity expansion.
Speaking to the residents of Halimboi, John Mahama asserted that they started the process to get the area connected to the national grid but due to the NDC losing in the 2016 election the process was stalled.
John Mahama said, “In 2016 we tried to give you light, we brought poles and everything, but unfortunately, we lost the election, and I hear since then you still don’t have light, I can assure you that when we come, we are starting the rural electrification program”.
“Since you have stopped me and put your case before me you vote on 7 December when NDC comes I will make sure that Halimboi gets light on top I will come here and switch on the light myself”, John Mahama reiterated boldly.
John Mahama further urged the residents of Halimboi to vote massively for the NDC in the December polls. “Vote for JM for president don’t look for number 8, look for the umbrella and thump print it and vote NDC in the parliamentary elections as well”, he said.
