The Gomoa East constituency organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hassan Hamidu, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Kojo Asemanyi, and his party’s executives of destroying NDC campaign posters in the area.
Hamidu reported that many posters belonging to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Desmond Patioo, have been damaged by NPP supporters. He stated that the NPP’s campaign message is faltering, prompting them to resort to vandalism.
Hamidu urged the Ghana Police Service to enhance security in Gomoa East as the 2024 elections approach.
In response, the NPP constituency organizer, Samuel Nyarko Abass, held a counter press conference to deny the allegations. He asserted that the NPP is confident in their chances of winning both the parliamentary and presidential elections on December 7.
Abass emphasized that the NPP remains focused on their campaign strategy and urged a peaceful election process.
