Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa has taken on a member of the National Cathedral’s board of trustees Dr. Joyce Aryee, for defending the continuous payment of salaries to members of the board for no work done.
Dr Joyce Aryee in an interview with the media justified the over 21,000 Ghana cedis monthly salary payments to CEO of the secretariat Dr Paul Opoku-Mensah,despite no work in the project for over a year.
Speaking on the sidelines of a symposium organized in collaboration with TD Jakes’ divinity school Dr Joyce Aryee justified the payments.
Speaking at the same event CEO of the National Cathedral Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, also clarified the misconceptions surrounding the project.
But North Tongu MP Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa in a post on social media noted “You spend over US$58million to dig the world’s most expensive pit.
You continue to use taxes of suffering Ghanaians to pay salaries for 31 long months after the project was abandoned, and this is your best response to Ghanaians demanding an end to this cruel wastage and plunder? God’s holy image doesn’t deserve this.
And certainly, Ghanaians don’t deserve this ungodly impunity and utter disrespect.
